Power, Shape, Consistency
Most American surfers (“gringos”) visit Costa Rica in search of perfect, easy, well-known, and therefore well-populated spots. We, on the other hand, prefer the fun, uncrowded, incredibly consistent, punchy waves of Playa Hermosa.
What to expect? Long-period swells. Pumping 3ft to 6ft, all day, every day. Below are just a few of the local breaks you’ll be surfing with us:
Hermosa
Right out front. You’ll see it breaking from your hotel room. World class, punchy A-frames and barrels. Mid to high tide.
Bowie
Known for its consistency and power, Bowie offers challenging waves ideal for advanced surfers.
Pipa
Also a short walk away. Slightly smaller waves breaking closer to shore (less paddling). Long powerful rights, shorter lefts.
