What is the best time to surf in Costa Rica?

Join us on our strike missions in January to May, and November to take advantage of optimal conditions with incredibly consistent S/SW swells, minimal wind or rain, and fewer crowds.

Book a flight to San Jose, Costa Rica. We provide a private van transfer from Juan Santamaria International Airport directly to Playa Hermosa, ensuring you’re surfing within two hours of landing. You’ll surf a variety of local spots, all within the Playa Hermosa area. Most of the best breaks are within a short walking distance from the accommodation.

  • 10-night accommodation
  • Daily surf sessions
  • Expert guidance on the best spots
  • Professional video photography of every session

What about meals?

While our surf package does not include food or drinks, you will find fantastic restaurants and bars right next to our accommodation and more options just a short walk away. See our dining page for more detail.

Are there non-surfing activities?

Yes, you can enjoy zip-lining, waterfalls, hiking, nature tours, and vibrant nightlife in the nearby town of Jaco.

Do I need a visa to travel to Costa Rica?

Australian citizens do not need a visa for short-term stays in Costa Rica (up to 90 days), but ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your planned departure date. Make sure to bring your vaccination card for Yellow Fever and always check the latest travel advisories and entry requirements before your trip.
